What is Care for Infants and Children?
Care for Infants and Children is how to provide emergency care for injured or ill children and infants. Participants learn about the types of medical emergencies that children face, and how they differ from adults.

What is Emergency Oxygen Provider?
Emergency oxygen provider will teach you how and when to administer emergency oxygen to an injured or ill person.

Primary Care

– manoeuvres to open the airway
– CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
– serious bleeding

– near drowning
– identifying stroke and cardiac arrest (heart attack)
– flip and drag positions
– two rescuer CPR
– AED use

Secondary Care
What is Secondary Care?
Secondary Care is basic first aid. Even when a situation isn’t life threatening, it’s important to know how to manage common injuries and illnesses that you may encounter.

What is covered in Secondary Care?
– burns (thermal, electrical and chemical)
– seizures
– diabetic emergencies
– auto epinephrine injectors for severe allergic reactions
– splinting, bandaging, slings and swathes
– penetrating injuries and eye injuries

Care for Infants and Children
What is Care for Infants and Children?
Care for Infants and Children is how to provide emergency care for injured or ill children and infants. Participants learn about the types of medical emergencies that children face, and how they differ from adults.

What is covered in Care for Infants and Children?
– Basic scene safety, asking permission, barrier use and call for help
– responding to an unconscious child or infant
– manoeuvres to open the airway
– CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
– serious bleeding
– shock
– spinal injury
– choking
– bandaging
– treating for illness

Emergency Oxygen Provider
What is Emergency Oxygen Provider?
Emergency oxygen provider will teach you how and when to administer emergency oxygen to an injured or ill person.

What is covered in Emergency Oxygen Provider?
– Identify when oxygen is needed for scuba diving and water-related injuries and illnesses
– Aid a diver if decompression sickness is suspected
– Assemble an oxygen unit
– Administering emergency oxygen using the correct mask and hose
– Dissembling an oxygen unit
This will be done under Emergency First Response which is an internationally recognised organisation equivalent to Red Cross, St John Ambulance, American Heart Association etc. This certification is valid for two years.
For groups of five or more the training can be done at a location of your choice!
